In 2016, Abu Sufian Haider, a tech entrepreneur based in the USA, visited Bangladesh and realized that bringing everyone in the hosting industry together was essential. Before this, companies were working separately; they barely knew each other, and the relationship between hosting providers, data centers, IIG organizations, and the government was not very strong.
For this reason, Abu Sufian Haider took the first initiative to launch the Hosting Summit. As a result, the first Hosting Summit was organized in 2017 at Hotel 71 in Dhaka. In 2018, Ekrahost hosted the second Hosting Summit. Following that, Alpha Net, XeonBD, Dhaka Web Host, and Web Host BD continued hosting the event up to 2020.
After 2020, Alpha Net independently organized the Hosting Summit from 2021 to 2025. The CEO of Alpha Net, Mr. Ekramul Haider, played a significant role in making these events successful. Ultimately, the purpose of the Hosting Summit is to advance Bangladesh’s hosting industry, solve current and future challenges, and keep all industry stakeholders united under one platform.
