Addressing the challenges of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, the 8th Hosting Summit 2026 was held in Nikunja, Dhaka, under the initiative of Alpha Net. The summit took place on Sunday, January 4, with participation from leading web hosting companies in Bangladesh, along with representatives from both public and private sectors.
Senior officials from nearly 30 top web hosting organizations attended the event, including representatives from Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services), e-CAB (e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh), and the Cyber Security Division of the Bangladesh Police.
The summit featured keynote remarks by Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Head of the Cyber Security and Forensic Computing Department at the College of Computer and Cyber Sciences, Prince Mugrin University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The keynote session was delivered by US-based technology expert Abu Sufian Haider.
Speaking at the event, the Summit Convener emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s hosting industry. He highlighted the importance of building modern infrastructure, increasing the adoption of artificial intelligence, and developing a skilled workforce. He also stressed that local hosting providers must be elevated to international standards to play a more effective role in the digital economy.
During the discussion, participants highlighted the following key focus areas for strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem:

- Creating opportunities to enter international markets
- Strengthening cyber security preparedness
- Upgrading hosting and data center infrastructure
- Enhancing public and private sector collaboration
